Flight Training

North Shore Aero Club has adopted a professionally designed flight-training curriculum based on traditional methods of flight training and CAA Part 61 requirements.

The student is paired with one of our Flight Instructors and begins each lesson with an individual briefing in one of the special briefing rooms. The briefing will detail the flying lesson for that day with special attention to the expected goals of the lesson (The flying lessons are explained in the "Private Pilot Training Guide").

When the flight has been completed the Instructor will debrief the student, the lesson will be examined and the student's ability to fly the lesson will be discussed.

It is important to us that flying is enjoyable for our students. We also encourage students to continue after their training and broaden their aviation experience as much as possible.

Student Feedback

One year ago today, I sat in the departure lounge of AKL waiting to board my flight home to the UK. The previous day I passed my PPL in ZK-TZG.

Having had a year to reflect on my training, I still feel the same as I initially did. North Shore Aero Club provides the highest standard of training avaliable! The training I recieved from instructors has set me up for life and I have a strong solid base!

I am now in Florida completing my JAA ATPL's (11 down, 3 to go). Having flown many hours here in the USA and having had friends who have studied the FAA PPL, I can put hand on heart and say I can understand why NZ pilots are classed so highly! Even the FAA instructors joke about how pathetic the FAA PPL is.

Thanks to all, and hopefully in 1 year from now I will be flying high in Europe with my JAR - FCL fATPL.

Many thanks to all at NSAC,
Alan McIntosh (March 2009)

In order to fly at the North Shore Aero Club you must become a member. We have a wide range of membership options available. The most common is full "Pilot" membership.
